A 30-Mile Cattle Drive North of Regina

The Clemens Ranch's cattle drive has been under way since before dawn yesterday morning. It'll last until this afternoon. This a fantastic way to make new friends, to renew with old ones and to journey together for a while.

Heard later from a farmer upon this sight: "Here is a farmer waiting for the mailman."

Cruising speed is about four miles per hour.

One of the high points was stopping the traffic to take the cattle across Highway #6...

...with the logistical assistance of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police

The outfit in all its splendour...

Heard later: "We're the ones doing the real work!"

And the Qu'Appelle Valley, at last, is in sight.
