Day 1

An unforgettable Western Canadian ranch adventure in the Great Plains... in the Cypress Hills! Here is your chance to really enjoy Western Hospitality. Step back in time and travel the same trails used by the Indians, the Mounted Police and pioneers of yesterday. Experience a cattle drive or help check cattle on a horseback. Get involved in seasonal ranch activities, such as calving, branding and fencing. You will visit ancient teepee rings and buffalo wallows. Inexperienced riders are welcome.

Enjoy the comforts of the Reesor's historic ranch home, comfy beds in large bedrooms and private balconies. Have you ever slept in a log cabin? Discover peace and privacy on the "roof" of the Plains in a cozy guest cabin for the night. Top off evenings with campfires and cowboy poetry.

You may want to visit Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Fort Walsh National Historic Site, visit a Hutterite Colony or Local Rodeos.

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be a rancher, here is your chance to experience it with a wonderful family.

The Covenant Of The Wild: Why Animals Chose Domestication
Stephen Budiansky
While it may seem like humans are ultimately masters of the animal kingdom, this book shows the relationship works both ways. Stephen Budiansky explains that, contrary to exploitation theories, many animals have chosen domestication as a survival strategy. The Covenant Of The Wild is an eye-opening look at how humans and animals alike have benefited from domesticity, a fact that many animal-rights extremists too often overlook.
